Duties and responsibilities: ) Analyze patient's medical history, medication allergies, physical condition, and examination results to verify operation's necessity and to determine best procedure. Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and procedures, such as sedatives, diets, antibiotics, and preparation and treatment of the patient's operative area. Direct and coordinate activities of nurses, assistants, specialists, residents and other medical staff. Examine patient to provide information on medical condition and surgical risk. Follow established surgical techniques during the operation. Operate on patients to correct deformities, repair injuries, prevent and treat diseases, or improve or restore patients' functions.

Salary: Surgeon in the United Sates are expected to make less than $345,522.

Education: surgeons train for longer than other specialists; only after 9 years of training do they qualify. These years include 4 years of medical school and a minimum of 5 years of residency.

Reflection: I wouldn’t  like to become one because it has to do with operating and cutting people up and im not the kind of person who deals with blood so I wouldn’t like to become one for ex: I would feel too much pressure and loose control  of what im doing.
